Indication:

Drotaverin DS solution for injection reduces the tone of the internal organs and blood vessels soft musculature by inhibiting the phosphodiesterase enzyme. In case of intravenous injecting, the spasmolytic effect rapidly occurs.

Drotaverin DS is used for:

  • Smooth muscle spasms related to gall bladder and bile duct diseases: gallstones in the gall bladder or bile ducts, gall bladder or bile duct inflammation.
  • Smooth muscle spasms in kidney diseases , urinary bladder and urinary tract disorders: kidney stones in the kidneys and urinary tract , kidney and urinary tract inflammation, urinary bladder spasm.
  • Uncomplicated delivery in the phase of cervical dilation, to reduce the duration of dilation and decrease the total duration of labor.

In case of impossibility to take the oral form (through the mouth), the solution for injection Drotaverin DS may be administered in the following cases:

  • Gastrointestinal smooth muscle spasm: gastric duodenal ulcer, gastritis (stomach inflammation), muscle spasm in the upper and lower parts of the stomach, intestinal inflammation.
  • Gynecological disorders: dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation), and to relieve the severe spastic pain in labor.

1 ml of the solution contains 20 mg Drotaverine hydrochloride

Dosage and method of administration:

For intramuscular and intravenous administration.
